Thanks Jimbo, I'd completely forgotten the time out option.

Just need a blow the whistle while I'm in front option now

This could go down in the Relegation Hall of Fame.

Though my record doesn’t justify it, I’m offered a job at Quilmes in the Argentinian 2nd division.

They’re not a little club and have a wage budget of £36k along with a £2.4M transfer budget. An added bonus, they are 5th with 6 games left so even I can’t get them relegated. (this season)

Almost resign on the first day on discovering they were formed in 1887 by a group of expatriate Jocks, are there any of the buggers left in Scotland?

Manage to drag them down to 12th before the season ends but I have plenty of time to prepare for next season & I think I’ve discovered a pointer to succeeding here. Sorry no tipping.

I have 2 scouts, both are dispatched forthwith to find the secret ingredients, nobody over 20 need apply. Out go all the over 30’s

We start like a house on fire, 7 straight wins & a 21 yr old striker who is an assassin, I call him Andof Godd, sadly he’s a “tripped over a straw & a hen kicked me” kind of guy & spends many an hour in the treatment room or recovering from bugs.
When he’s missing we struggle but end the First Stage (19 games) in second place.

W 12 D 4 L 3 F 38 A13 Pts 40

Andof has 17 goals & although he fades in the second half his doppelganger Futof Godd takes over. Andoff ends the season with 26 goals and Futof gets 18.

W 24 D 9 L 5 F 85 A 31 Pts 81

We get 2nd place which means playoff against the top side, A 3-0 home leg win is followed by a 3-5 thriller of a second leg , we get promted by virtue of a 90th minute penalty.

There are no cup competitions to suck here.

This is a bit of a head scratcher really, I got a job my record didn’t justify, my 4 signings were peripheral, the existing squad did the business, which is unusual.
I don’t think I pulled any master strokes but we just sailed through. I’ll probably pay for it next season but in the meantime I’ll bask in the glory.

Sounds like they got the right man for the job!!

How did you approach having an unexpected transfer budget? Were you really disciplined or did you get excited and throw it at the first guy your scouts liked?
(not supposed to be tipping, if you think it is then don't answer!)

Good read, have fun in the 1st Division.

The budget went on players who my scouts tipped highest (those I could get) But they turned out pretty ordinary. The players who did the business were already at the club. That's a first for me.

I expect to struggle next season as every player has a 25% promo clause so the wage budget is blown, could be interesting

Great to know someone is trying our leagues, you'll find it's complex...

What's keeping me from doing it is the fact that the "Primera B Nacional" is not exactly what i would call a low league, because it has teams of a fairly big size, with huge stadia and a large number of supporters, like Huracán, Ferro, Talleres, Unión, Almagro, etc.

But then again the structure of professional football here is complex and there are two different inmediate inferior divisions for the "Nacional", there's the "Argentino" for teams from outside Buenos Aires and the "B Metropolitana" (not exactly like conference n/s because "Argentino" and "B metro" have different rules and number of teams, etc)

Well what i am trying to say is...

KUTGW!!!

Thanks for the clarification?? Pablo

I just keep playing matches tbh, but it does seem that Argentina mirrors my Greek league complaint, it starts at too high a level.

What I meant was that I would like to see more detail in competitions and nations other than the british/european. But I think that maybe achieving this would be difficult and don't think SI will do it. So
