My dad recently bought a turntable with USB connection (as a present for my mum, ostensibly, but no prizes for guessing who's used it most).
So they've been spending hours transferring their old records - some of which have never been re-released, they're so bad - onto CD.

For the record (ba-doom-tish), I'm currently listening to 'I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight'.

Ah the days of the old 78s with Gracie Fileds and George Formby. Those were the days. The bloody wax cylinders were no good at all.

Coal Fire? We used to walk down to the slag heap just to get a sniff of coal, we couldn't afford coal to burn.

Remember the little tins full of needles for the wind up, used to change the needle every 5 plays or so.

Coke we used to burn not coal, imagine burning a cwt of coke these days, you'd be high for f***ing months

Coal? Pish. Peat is where it's at. When the peat cutting is done, it floods and you get the Norfolk Broads as a bonus
