Well living in Chester, I thought I would start up a LLM game with my home town team. I wasn't looking forward to it though as I've tried to manage Chester several times before and given up within half a season - the reason? They are absolutely crap in FM2007. So far I have managed them about 4 times and each time been firmly bottom of the league before the inevitability of another defeat caused me to re-think my choice of teams.
Why oh why did I think this time would be any different? 10 games played, scored 7 goals (all of which came in three games, so haven't scored in 7 games) won 1 game, drawn one and lost the rest. Position? Bottom!
Has anyone managed to do anything with this god awful bunch of losers? Please offer me a glimmer of hope before I jack it in again and go for a less futile game as another lower league team.
By the way, before the flaming, I have managed to be quite successful with other LL teams as well as top teams, so I'm not just crap at the game, though I do appear to be crap at managing Chester City.
I had a good run with Chester in CM4, however since Conference N/S was added I haven't played them again.
I'm still waiting for my first promotion since 2005 , but still enjoy my games. Just playing with the LLM guidelines offers a nice experience, even without any succes. (Have a look at Emmenaars update-thread or do a search for "P45 tour of Europe" if you want proof of that.)

I dont believe that to be true, it just appears that way because most people fail to realise that "xyz disaster" or "relegation tour of abc" are actually bragging threads, bragging is applicable to both negative and positive events.
