go "preferences" - "display/sound" and untick "fullscreen".

however you must be displaying in a high resolution (must be higher than 1024x768 I believe)

Right click on Football Manager 08 on desktop. Go down to properties. In the box that says target, write -small_screen- windowed.
In the box it should now say: "CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\fm.exe" -small_screen -windowed
Make sure you put a space before both hyphens. Start up FM and it should be in windows mode.

Alternatively, you can set your monitor's resolution to 1024x768 or higher by right-clicking on your desktop, selecting properties, then changing the resolution on the settings tab.
