Who else finds football manager crap, but addicting? Also, who thinks there should a football manager rehab?
That title might seem weird but it's absolutely true for me. I have been playing this game for about 6 or 7 years now (since champ man) and i no longer get any satisfaction from the game (haven't done for 2 years), yet for some reason i find myself constantly playing it. The only time i get satisfaction is when i cheat and create this unbeatable team with a billion pounds to spend on players (makes you feel powerful lol), and then even that gets boring after a season. So many times when i should of been doing university work, i can't help but click on football manager and i am on it for the night then. I like to call it the "football manager urge". Out of knowhere i suddenly get this urge to play the game, when i should really be doing other things. I think football manager is a like a drug and really takes over your life. Even when i should be lifting the weights i say, oh i'll just have a little go on footie manager, and next thing you no it is 1am (like now lol).
Everytime i watch a football match on the tv, i suddenly imagine i am a manager and imagine i am on football manager taking a small club in to the premiership or something. This excites me and i put off everything i need to do, turn on the pc and go straight on football manager. I start a new game, and after i have made all my signing and start playing some games i just get bored and can't be assed with it. I think it is just because i realise it is only a game (just a load of code) and so cannot really live up to my earlier fantasy.
Does anyone else find that the game takes over their life lol? With football manager 2007, i used to be on it alot and i did uninstall it a few times so i couldn't play on it. That would only last a few days before i would reinstall it again though.
For the last 3 years i have said "i am not buying football manager this year" but i stil end up buying it. I mean it though this time, i am not buying fm 2009, lol.
I think i am just very hard to please to be honest. I have never be into xbox or playstations because you couldn't do certain stuff (such as blow up a certain building), and i probably wouldn't be happy until they invented a game were you could do anything lol.
