I want to trade my defenders for trafficcones as I feel they will do as good as a job and be much cheaper in wages.

Last game, cup against Derby away. We are in the 94th minute and the score is 1-1. My team get a corner and my cornertaker hits the ball to my striker, who doesn't seem to have anything to do with the ball so he stops dead in the water. Ofcourse he loses possession and one of Derby's players races up the pitch.

I'm not too worried as their player is alone and I got two player on defense just outside their own box. The only problem is that as the Derby player charges down the pitch on the left side my defenders decide to stand to the right with no intention of moving towards the left and the charging player. They both let him walk straight up to goal and score without even making an effort to disturb him.

I keep saying my ignorance of the sport itself makes me less annoyed than many others with many of the flaws in the matchengine as I really don't know better. The defensive AI is horrible to stick out even to me though.

if only you could get hold of the instructions for the AIs pristine defending eh? It can make you sick.

Give your def a little credit they lasted till int othe 90 mins...

Not sure exactly which two of my defenders it was, I was too upset to check. Even if I pick the two cheapest ones they have a combined salary of 55k and God knows what kinda bonuses they got on top of that. I think I should be allowed to ask them to try atleast.

Yes, counter attacks do seem to move down the flank and in, I find that improving CB's with no closing down are prone to being a little statuesque in watching him wander by.
