Running FM2008 on Mac, trying to update from within the game opens the following URL in a browser:

http://www.sigames.com/update/check_for_update.php?app=...ion=8.0&build=110034

I've been trying this for nearly two weeks now with same response:

"We've detected that a newer version is available from the Sports Interactive website.

However, we are unable to find the download in our database currently. Please try later!"


This is really beginning to annoy me now. Can someone at SI please sort this out now.

Either make the download available or do not report it as being available. One or the other.

CM/FM are fantastic games but I'm afraid to say that SI's support just takes the ****.

If SI are not able to deliver the patch from the update URL hardwired into the game, then they should really set their servers to redirect to one of the mirrors or, at least, provide details of these mirrors on the update page.

The current message is extremely unhelpful, don't you think? It To me, it just suggests server load problems which will go away very soon but that is clearly not the case.

Not everyone who plays the game wants to have to register and then scour the forums for information ...
