How do they get that number on the game? Is this something to do with their stats? Or nothing at all to do with stats? Does that improve when stats improve or the other way round?

Also, how come you get a player with boss stats but **** CA? You always get some kid in africa or sa with great stats but he is crap when you play him.

Also, what does PA of - somthing mean? Is that better than 200?

CA is just a number between one and 200. As far as I know, in most cases, CA informs the player's stats. So if the player has 100 CA then his stats will be average. If he has 150, the stats will be better, and so on.

As for your question about players have good stats but bad CA, have you actually confirmed that they have low CA? Just because a player has good CA doesn't mean they'll automatically play better. In fact some players' CA can be deceptive.

For instance:
player A with CA = 80 will play better than player B with CA = 110.

More than just CA determines how a player plays. Like tactics, condition, morale, etc.

PA of '-' something means a random number between a certain set. Therefore a player with a PA of -10 will be given a random potential within the actual game of between 180-200 (iirc). -9 is then 160-180 and so on. (again iirc).
