How do i load a database i have made changes to. When i start a new game it loads the old player database. Do i have to amend the XML document?

when you start a new game it should give you an option of which database to load. click on the drop-down, and you should see yours in there...

It's a problem a few other people have had, when they install the patch, have a look in the editors forum, but the only solution I’ve seen is uninstalling the game, reinstalling applying the patch and then making your changes.
