i have found a way to edit players name without using an editor and it will affect your saved game aswell

are you talking about the set nickname bit?

It can't be, everyone knows about the nickname option.

And changing nicknames does not affect your savegame. If you enter the nickname in GenieScout you will not find anything. You have to enter the orignal name.

Yep it's easy i've changed many names without the need for the editor, if you look around the forum try searching for ddt editor ,you will find your answer.

huh?? As far as i know edt and ddt-files need to be in place before you start the game and are not savegame compatible.

It's got nothing to do with EDT/DDT files.

go back to that site and look at the top and click on the link just to the right of the home, Home, xxx Files < that link.
