Is can you use this in game? Or do you use this before you start a new game, so the data is there from the start?

EDT and DDT are only in come into effect when you start a new gamne, so if you male a edt file mid way through a saved game it wont take effect until a new game is started. however you can create LNC files that effect saved games, though not as 'powerful' as edt/ddt files they can help do some stuff...other than that any other saved game editing can be done by FMM 2.14a
