i have just updated the 7.0.2 database and saved it as a different name i was wondering where on your computer does your saved database go and how do you activat on your game because it is not on the drop down menu when i click on start new game.
I now this is a comman problem so can somebody help me

Full (default) path:

CDocuments and Settings\<USERNAME>\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007 backup\db\<YOUR DB NAME>

However check to see if you've changed the "User Data Folder" from the preferences. That's where the game searches for the databases. Make sure that it's not different from the location where you saved the database (you can also set it for the Editor under Edit -> Options).

Here's a more detailed explanation:

FM - USER DATA FOLDER

All right.. When you first install the game, it places your custom databases, games, saved tactics, all sorts of things in a place commonly known as the "User Data Folder"

The standard location of that folder is:

CDocuments and Settings\<USERNAME>\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007

(I seem to have messed up the location earlier, sorry about that)

In this folder you should see some subfolders, corresponding to their function.. "db", "games", "tactics", etc..

Now when you start FM and go to "Preferences" you can either change the location of the User Data Folder or leave it as it is. But remember that the game looks for the Databases stored in the "db" folder.

EDITOR - USER DATA FOLDER

When you start the editor, you can also set the location of where you want to save your future databases, by going to Edit -> Options and setting the path there. You want this path to be the same as the "User Data Folder" described above.

i am trying to use my own database on the game, that i have created on mydata editor, but it just says that football manager has run out of memory and must close when i attempt to load the game, can you help?

How much RAM do you have? Looking at the box, I can see that the minimal requirement is 1 GB.

Also - is it just a problem with the new database or is the problem present no matter which database you choose?
