It's still very effective but if you got a defender with better stats for heading and jumping then its not as bad as it was on 07.
I'm still sceptic about it. First game of the demo and Vidic is getting beat in the air several times by a striker, albeit with 16 jumping and about the same for determination. Very disappointing.

Very disappointing. </BLOCKQUOTE>That was something that happened alot in 07 too. Crosses in seemed to always be headed by the striker rather than a defender. In reality defenders got to the ball as least as often as the striker and often moreso.
i think the defender is in passive more than i thought. for example, vidic often concede headers facing torres which is ridiculous. but this situation only happen in the goalkick header.as to the crossing, both him and Rio are on a very high performance actually. so i think this contrast somewhat seems not comply with regular
but this situation only happen in the goalkick header.
That was mostly how Vidic lost headers in my game, not through crosses like Dayle said. And that's unrealistic because I think it's easier for a defender to win a header from a long ball rather than a cross.
Maybe the demo has flaws like this, but it's certainly not helping to sell the game.
Imo, target men are not as effective in 08 as compared to 07. Drogba no longer an efficient a TM as compared to FM 07. Haven't really tried other target men though, will test out soon.
