i just found out after playing the game for 7 years now that the most consistant tactics were right under my nose.

someone said earlier in a forum, not sure who it was but if you use the 4-4-2 normal with short runs on the wingers for a home tactics. and use the 4-4-2 normal without any runs away you can use it effectively to challenge on the game.

i have to say now after constant play on fm 07 i agree. i will upload some pictures later about how my team are doing and what players i curently have as i would like to know from the moderaters what they think of them, just personal view.

I use 4-1-2-1-2 either home or away and I`m happy with it! to say if the one you use is better I`d have to play the exactly same saved game which is impossible!

the reason i'de say it is a mint formation and tactic is becuase home or away the possession is brilliant. compared to trying to use other tactics i always was unable to beat the small clubs for some reason and also because any players up front that are good enough score a hell of a lot of goals.

for example pazzine last season scored over 40 goals for me and at least 10 goals were set up by him. rooney was also on the goal trail with 14 in 13 but got injured for most of the season.

Maybe there's a hidden "newbie" element in the game which makes it easier to win if you don't change anything in the tactics from default

anyway.. I agree .. I think you should just use 442 and train ALL players on passing and then put it on Slow Tempo and Short Passing... voila. Good solid tactic

shown in this screen shot is a game i had against arsenal i thought it would be a hard game turned out not to be by using 4-4-2 normal.

this is the match stats for the arsenal game as you can see i had more shots on taget and on goal. but my passing was poor which didn't hinder my team.

The simplest explanation for this is that if you are playing with top quality players (as I assume you are with Man Utd) then the default tactics set most things to the mid point hence the players make up their own mind what to do in any given situation.

I tried default tactics with a lower league team poor quality squad and got my ass handed to me
