Has anybody ever used Francesco Totti as a lone striker?
It's a position that he played very well last season in real life, scoring 25 goals (I think he was golden boot winner? Might be wrong there).

My reason for asking is that I just can't get him to play well there on the game, either 2007 or 08. Any thoughts?

you need to give him a free role with a little line going back, have him as play maker and target man with balls to feet

How do you play the midfield? Im trying with 2 DMC, one MC, Two Wide attacking players AML,AMR.

the two attacking mids have to have lines going forward because at times they are more forward than the striker (totti)

i personally sign a new attacking mid right,not enough quality in those roles at the club to play that system

I've been playing this formation and many others and I still can't get Totti to score at all from open play. Any advice would be welcome.

I dont no man...I used Totti in FM 07 when I took charge of Roma (2 years and a half after the start of the season) and he was a goal scoring machine, both from attacking midfielder and striker (centre right)

Does Totti really play as a striker? i like him as a player but I have never really watched Roma games tbh. But from what I watched a few times, he's more of an AMC with a farrow? Do Roma even play with real strikers?

He plays in the top striker position but then drops behind the supporting wingers where he becomes a playmaker.
The midfield players like Perotta make runs through the middle between the wide players like Mancini and Taddei. Totti doesnt make many runs at all.
Someone earlier mentioned putting him as top striker with a barrow and employing him as Target Man/Playmaker. I would agree that's exactly how he's used irl. Don't forget to tick long shots often.
