Posted this question in GQ but it may be more relevant here:
I have a striker who, whenever he gets the ball to feet, almost regardless of where he is om the pitch, stops the ball and appears to pas it from foot to foot for about 5 seconds, thereby giving the opposition ample time to close him down and clear the ball- this is doing my head in! Anyone else found this?
Can anyone tell me which player attribute, either visible or hidden will make the player more prone to this type of action and is there any training that will improve this?
If this is the games interpretation of the instruction to HUB then it has drastically changed since 07- there are times when a player holding up the ball is a sensible option but on the edge of his own area, then it is clearly not- it remains to be seen if it is his decisions attribute that is affecting this but I think HUB will have to go.
It really depends, on some players with good strength and passing it seems to work quite well. What I would do with HUB is to set passing to direct or 1. Nothing else. Passing of 1 is one touch and direct works best when used with a TM.
