Do you guys think that it's better to have different training schedules eg one for defenders, one for midfielders and one for attackers. (Ex,,,defenders give them more defensive workload etc)
Or the training schedule should be one for everyone?

Different tactics for different positions? Post #2
Different people have different views on this, although generally I think the consensus is different training schedules. What's important though is that even though you tailor your schedules to some extent, make sure that they also stay fairly well-rounded as well-rounded players are generally to be preferred.
Also, in some cases it can even be worth creating a training schedule just for one player, for example where a player doesn't appreciate a high training workload, or if a player is seriously lacking in one particular area.
Hope that helps.

Different tactics for different positions? Post #3
That's an interesting question and it does pose a dilemma for me at least..I started a discussion on the best way to study training, don't think there were many takers.
Based on my impressions on what I've gathered on the forums:
1. Preseason training is VITAL to getting your team in shape. Aerobics and Strength training must never be ignored
2. Training throughout the season can take several approaches..and this is where I get this voice in my head saying.."there could be a simpler way"
To explain further..there are currently 3 approaches
a. General Training for all..adjusted in a season in areas of aerobic training to adjust for first team play to prevent burnout
b. Specific Training by position, yielding as many as 7 specialised areas
c. Hybrid of the Two ( This is the area I'm beginning to think my have more potential, though it requires rigorous testing, and I just don't have the time, if I was in uni I would)
The hybrid sessions would see players do general training for half the season and position specific training for the other half. So a typical training season would feature..
preseason, general training, specialised training.
Just a thought..

Bend and mould a player with specific position training for the first half of the season and then try to maintain his newly build stats the rest of the season as I noticed stats drop if I put it on the same training for too long.
