It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

I think this tactic is working, but like any formation it takes time, mainly because you really need the players to play in the specific positions. My Spurs team have started well, won the Super Cup against Barcelona, though only 1-0.

My team if your interested is
Robinson in goal, Van Den Borre & Assou-Ekotto as the full backs, King & Maduro as CBs.
Two CM are mixture of Huddlestone, Zokora, Jenas, Gourcuff, Skeljbred & Kalou.
LW I have Martin Petrov or Downing, RW Malbranque & Kalou. CF is choice from Berbatov, Mido, Keane, Defoe or Beattie - think the best person is a target man/powerful striker who is good in the air since there are a lot of crosses going in the box.

Hey Joor, nice going on your ajax tactic, my favorite club, the basic part of the ajax system is possesion football. Your tactic is only about the van Gaal system. I prefer the Cruijff system. It is very wrong to say that they have the same system, like Heron said. The difference between the two systems is that Cruyff(and Michels) didnt play with a 10. They only played with a 4(dmc) in front off the 2 DC. This is a lot like Rijkaard plays with Barca, and ten Cate with Ajax. In this system the Wingbacks will go forward, and the two midfielders will go forward also. So you will only have 3 people in the back, the 2 DC and the 4. This way you will play a lot more attacking, in your system you have 2 controlling midfielders, in the Cruijff system you will have only one. The van Gaal system should only be played if you would have a very complete AMC, like litmanen in the old days, who gives a lot of extra on his position. If you dont have such a player, always try the Cruijff way.

Good luck with the Ajax way of play

All the instructions are there do it yourself. </BLOCKQUOTE>

some of the negative attitudes from people when someone asks a perfectly reasonabe question are terrible on this forum.

your right the guy has provided all the instructions for this tactic, and well done to him. But i think its perfectly acceptable to ask the OP to upload the tactic given that the whole purpose of him posting his tactic is to "SHARE" it with the community.

Surely everyone accepts that if there is a choice between spending the best part of an hour replicating this tactic based on the ops instructions or simply hitting the donwload button at fmdownloads.net then the latter is by far the preffered option.

That is not lazy, its economical. It would take the OP the max of five mins to upload his formation, and save 100s of hours of work for other people recreating the tactic. So whos really being lazy?

The guy asking for a donwnload or the op who wants to share his formation with the community but wont upload it?

I beleive the op has went to the effort of writing the instructions in detail in order that he can probably explain the mentality involved in order to entice the community. A simple upload would allow us all to more thoroughly evaluate its performance.

Quite an interesting tactic this........I used it during my second season at Spurs and won the League. Didn't have quite the same success in the Cups, but had a couple of decent runs before being knocked out.

The tactic seems at its best when confronted with a defensive formation, as you tend to dominate possession, territory and ultimately shots on goal.

Will persist with it entering into season 3.

This seems to be a very good tactic. Using it with Liverpool and its great against the weaker sides and even the top sides when playing at home. The only problem seems to be playing away against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd etc.
I've tried tweaking the tempo, the defensive line and the marking but am still struggling.

this tactic works great but after 2 or 3 months the other teams start to crack it. What is the best thing to do when that happens?

Why should the opening poster post his tactic? Hes given out instructions and a screenshot of how the formation is laid out. All thats needed is to copy it yourself and test it out. When people start posting tactics all sense of discussion seems to go out the window.
