ok the tactic i have created is so far offensively good.....creating lots of chances but i seem to be leaking silly goals and the opposition are according to the action zones having to much possesion in my area....if i manage to put the screenies on here of the formation and team instructions i will try to explain my defenders instructions
full back mentality about 12....cf is team....passing short 2 on slider.closing down team...fwd runs often... rwb mixed
centre backs...mentality defensive 3 on slider...cf team.....passing short 1 on slider...closing down is team....everything else is rarely and tight marking is ticked
defensive midfielders.....mentality is 8 for one of them and 10 for the other....cf team for both...closing down mixed...fwd runs mixed...rwb rarely

so has anyone got an idea of how i can tighten things up at the back

There could be a simple solution to this so Im going to suggest the following:

1) Remove the arrows from fullbacks and defensive midfielders.

2) Remove the offside trap

3) Reduce width to normal

Those steps should help you to tighten things at the back.
