Simple and easy, started with Manure using a d/loaded tactic from Susie.

There was both a Home and Away version, the idea was to play through the six month Demo basically just picking the team and playing the matches with little other interference from myself. Queiroz took charge of team talks and i left the training as is.

This was the Prem Table as the Demo finished.


They were flying and wins included 5-3 V Chelsea in the Community Shield and a 5-1 annihilation of Liverpool at Anfield.

I then noticed results tailing off suddenly, although the performances were just as convincing and we drew a few games we should have won easily and in the end over the whole of the Demo they lost 3 games.

The last defeat against Reading was the worst performance i'd seen and it was the very last game before the Demo ended, at one point earlier in the season we Manure were clear by 10 points, but by the end the lead had all but dissapeared.

Overall i'm dissapointed that it felt like the form dip was unavoidable, which was pretty much how it felt in 07. In the last match against Reading for instance Shorey(LB) scored 2 stunning 20 yarders(his only goals of the Demo), whilst Hanemann(GK) got MOM for some unbelievable stops from Rooney, Tevez and Co.

Again as in 07, its not the losing, its the inevitabilty of it, which takes the fun out of playing the game.

At least there were no apparent 1 shot 1 goal and the opposition wins kind of games, but there again i was playing as Manure, so i may find that the same test with the Hammers could be different if they overachieve early on?.

Reading are always hideously overrated on FM btw. Lita and Doyle are scoring machines.

let me get this right, you tested a tactic with Man Utd and expected to learn what exactly?

As was said in 07, this dip is not inevetable but due to a set of circumstances which you can either foresee and deal with, or react to when it starts. It is unlikely that you can drift through the whole season without making some minor adjustments to your tactics to avoid slumps.

I'm going to apply the same test to a game starting with the Hammers and post the outcome.

I'll also get permission from the tactic creator to post his tactic + the couple of tweaks i made.

i'm playing as Manchester United and my only loss was at home to chelsea 0-1 which could happen irl. i won 15 drew 4 lost 1 f 38 a 5 pts 49... i was finding the more games i played the better my team played.

looking at your screen shots the only game that would worry me is the reading game but looking at it, it looks like reading played counter attacking, direct style..

What was most annoying about the Reading game, was that despite the closing down clearly not working, Manure still managed to keep them out of the box for most of the game, yet still somehow managed to let in three goals?.

By watching what happens in games, seeing how the opposition play against you, possession figures, number of shots, drawing games you should win etc. As soon as it starts, then you can try making some small adjustments to counteract them.
