Okay, so it seems a lot of people create their own tactics, probably with a default formation as a base.

However, I'd like to know if anybody has had success by using a default formation (standard tactis) and not tweaking it or just a few tweaks? I want to play "as simple as possible" but the thing is, ev'thing is more or less set to mix including mentality and closing down so surely it cant work, or?

Default tactics are balanced but they dont suit your players 100%. So they should be used as bases to tactics only.

As far as success is concerned with minor tweaking of passing and tempo I managed to win some trophies but this was only with very very good squads or teams. e.g. Real, Barca the same tactic failed miserably with lower league sides.
