And so let the beast awaken! Here are a few shamelessly stolen ideas from me to get the ball rolling:
Opponent Player winning everything in the air: keep ball on the ground (short passing) / drop striker back a bit to pick up passes
Goalkeeper kicks immediately returned to won team - Keeper cannot kick accurately / Midfielders not tall enough to win headers: try short distribution to defenders
Player having a bad match: may be because he is stifled by opponent, so before subbing him, try changing his position, eg) switch strikers if fast striker up against a fast defender
Opposition player annoyingly creative/good on the ball: especially if he has low bravery, try putting an aggressive man-marker on him to win those 50-50 balls and stifle his time on the ball
Opposition defending like demons: consider playing less direct attacking and more counter attacking and hold up the ball in midfield to encourage the opposition to come out of their box
Creative players are being stifled: reduce their closing down so they are less likely to be near an opponent when your team regains possession
Opposition defense has too much time on the ball: obvious really but effective – increase closing down for your strikers and wingers to harass their players into errors
No doubt these are all stunningly obvious but never underestimate the power of stupidness!
