What i mean by narrow midfield is when your midfield consists of DM, MC, MC and AM.
As far as your tactic is concerned, without knowing what team you are im going to say the following:
If you play too wide, the opposition is going to dominate play in the midfield as the center of your tactic is empty, reduce with to normal. Focus passing down the wings and remove any conflicting instructions for the wingers.

| Yeah, you're right, the opposition has too much space in the middle. I'm struggling with this, what could conflicting instructions be?
I've set them up with FWR often RWB often TTB mixed crossing often from byline to target man

A bit too fast ... Also, wingers have high closing down, creative freedom much, mentality attacking. I'm considering whether to use farrows or not.

| How good are your winger, are you sure they can handle too much creative freedom. For example at Chelsea I had Maluoda and Cole on mixed creative freedom and the rest on little.
Personally I find your instructions to contradict to a degree as creative players need space so they should really close down often.

thats what im getting at if your winger is creative as in you've instructed him to create attacking chances either by crossing or getting that killer pass you want him to have room to make his mind up as such. But by closing down a lot youre more less bringing him closer to the opposition and your hurrying his decisions.
This is logical to me and this is how I play, if you're getting good results and your happy, please ignore this post.

Yeah, I read it in the FAQ, too. The reason I set my wingers to close down often is I read that somewhere around here. I.E., to have strikers and wingers to close down often

It made sense in the way that they dribble, cross, pass, are creative etc when we are in possesion and then when we dont have possession they close down the opposition. But maybe I don't really get the idea behind closing down ...
