with 12 players you shouldn't be having many problems

I am playing NUFC too and in my opinion for the back four, the original players are good enough to get you to top 6. But if you really want to challenge for the top 4, the fullbacks need to be changed. Keep the Enrique and Beye as squad players though.

Get a goal scoring central midfielder and a targetman. Viduka in my opinion is not that good a targetman in the game.

Creative midfielder would be a priority I think. Both Barton and Diarra have mediocre creativity. If you watch the highlights over time you might notice that although they're solid in the midfield, they're not exactly creating chances for your strikers.
