The first season as manager of East Stirlingshire (3rd division in Scotland) was very successful. Against all odds, and with a terrible first half of the season, my lads managed to not only finish second, but win promotion to the second league.
Now, I had chosen this team because it has the smallest, crappiest facilites (stadium seats 200). Now that the team has money (impressive 200k), I was expecting some leniency from the board to improve training facilities, which would allow me to attract better footballers... alas, they don't seem to like the idea.
Now, I fear that the team is about to plummet back to division 3... I have hope though, the season has not started, even though my team has lost most of the key players...
I was initially hired to bring players and start building a team -which I sort of have done. However, everyone player I try and land rejects because of the training facilities, even after having made a jump in leagues.
So -the catch 22 part - I need better facilities to get players, but the board wants me to focus on getting players and not improving the facilities...
is there any way i could deal with this?
By the way, i was not trying to brag, just trying to give the history of the situation...
cheers
So you want to increase the clubs facilities, but having asked the club, they have suggested that you concentrate on the playing side of things and stop bothering them.
You want to know if there is any way you could deal with this ?
I personally would concentrate on the playing side and leave the facilities improvement to the man with the shovel .
