/me is acutely aware of what you mean. I'm on an unprecedented run (a relegation followed by three straight promotions) and I'm just waiting for reality to kick in.

I always thought that aquaplaning applied to both positive and negative results - it was just the feeling that nothing you do influences the outcome. Has the definition changed to a run of defeats?

Most of the people I've seen using it do it with the negative connotation Michal. I just assumed saying aquaplanning would confuse some people here.

Perhaps spelling aquaplaning correctly would clarify the issue...

Anyway, I had largely the same thing. 10 straight wins followed by 8 games without a win. Damned if I can see what the difference between the two runs was.

Aquaplaning is aquaplaning whichever direction you're travelling in.

As you say, Michal, it's got little to do with results and all to do with the fact nothing done by the player changes what's happening.

I tend to find that I lose very few but draw loads in the midst of an aquaplane, but it's mainly the helplessness of it.

Even though I haven't slept much more than yesterday, my mind is clearer today and there are some important typos in the original post.

Obviously the Suckarse FA Cup referenced in season 09/10 is the Suckarse FA Trophy (whatever its name might be this season) and the last sentence describing season 10-11 has a 'between the top teams in the division' missing, as in 'A lot of fixtures between the top teams in the division in those last stages are the only reason we stay there as our form during that period'.

I hope it's more understandable now.

Lack of sleep, and feelings of clarity.

That won't last.

Have a good day Jordi?
