First I must apologize for the last time I tried to post a Vuxhall game on this forum, I think I kind of messed it up
Anyways, I have played with Vauxhall a few times before, both in 06 version and the 07 version, but not with the latest patch.
If there are any language inconviniences for any readers, shoot me
Oh well, here we go:
First season 2006/2007 - Conference North:
Predicted to hit the bottom of the table by the pundits, this really was a challenge.
Looking at the squad and staff it`s not difficult to understand why. Lack of options and class all over the place.
Started by offloading all youngsters associacted with the club because they
were simply not good enough for the future.
Put in a few adverts, got some new coaches and scouts as well as a few physios. Nothing spectacular, but decent enough.
Got one decent striker, some midfielders and a couple defenders on free transfer, I thought
my scout did an excellent job considering the (nonexistent) resources available.
Halfway through season we surprised the pundits by being in the top half of the league, 8th place...my young
midfielders bossed the middle of the park and my two strikers put some of the chances away, while my defenders
kept it tight at the back conceeding only 8 goals in the last 19 games.
We ended the season in 2nd place and qualified for play-offs.
Going into the game we had several star players jaded as well as a couple of injuries to my forward players.
I still felt comfortable because the group had a good understanding between themselves and because my fast striker was ready and raring to go.
We eventually lost out 5-4 on aggregate against Nuneaton 2 min before the penalty shootout...a real blow!
Game of the season: 4-2 win against Gainsborough away with my fast striker scoring a hattrick.

Overall I am very happy with the season and already considering what needs to be done in the "dreaded 2nd season".The squad is obviously not big enough, but there are some quality players who will make it into the next season.
2nd season 2007/2008 - Conference North:
Started the season by improving the staff by a couple of new coaches. Offloaded a total of 12 players as I did not see them good enough to cope with the huge task of following up last season`s “success”.
Bought new players all over the pitch, from a new goalie to a brand new striker.
So overall, I have better coaches, a bigger and better squad this year, but the pundits expect us to finish in 8th place, so that`s 14 places higher up the league than last year, simply a monumental task. The board expects us to finish in a decent league position, whatever that means.
Started well, 3 wins and 2 draws in the first five matches, but a loss of form was just around the corner, meaning we were stuck in 10th place when the snow started falling in December.
The large influx of players certainly played its part, so I offloaded some fringe players to forge a stronger bond amongst the core players.
The form picked up, we won 6 on the trot, fighting with 4 other teams for the last play-off spot around February.
Then we put together a fantastic run of form by winning the 9 next matches and drawing only 3, losing 1.
Finished 4th and secured a play-off match against…yes, you guessed it, Nuneaton.
With a better squad than last year, fit players, all of them intact except for my star goalie, I was set to make amends for last year. We won the first match 1-0 and going away I felt confident but told my players to enjoy the match.
I shouldn`t have. In the space of 12 minutes Nuneaton scored 4 goals to put the game to bed.
Another bad day for the club, but a good season nonetheless.
At least I won`t have to meet Nuneaton next season, they won 2-0 against St.Albans in the Play-Off Final.
Game of the season: 3-2 victory over Hucknall at home (the Conference North winners)
Top Scorer: Enthustiastic winger (bought on free transfer)
Player of the Year:: Enthustiastic winger
Final Position: 4th (Play-offs)

Decent season, I had my doubts about the play-offs because I think the 2nd season is the most difficult one. Everyone expects you to do well. We turned in some good performances, but we were simply not good enough in the end.
Some more firepower added to the strikers department, a good leader in the middle of the park, a pacey right winger who can deliver decent crosses as well a strong centre-back could improve this squad by miles.
Time to send the wishlist on to the board.
3rd season 2008/2009 Conference North:
Offloaded a large part of the “old guard” and got in my requests from the last edition of this thread.
The staff is good enough, no changes there, only a scout added to the club.
Fantastic start to the season, three wins on the trot, 9-0 goal difference and Im thinking “here we go again”. But 4 draws and 1 defeat in the next 6 games left us off pace behind the leading pack.
Picked up towards Christmas and were pretty much in 3rd position all the way until the end of the season.
Finished 4th, York had pretty much wrapped up the title by January, so I didn’t see us winning the title, instead I homed in on the play-offs once again.
Finished 4th
Lost the play-off semi-final against Hednesford 3-1 on aggregate.
Conference North for the 4th time running, Im still patient, but I wonder how long that will last…
Game of the season: 4-4 against Southport…we went 4-0 down inside the first half hour mark , but I had faith in the tactics and the team, and it paid off.
