Rep Power: 0 | Brazilian Lower League Rules
I've tried my luck in the Brazialian lower leagues as Nacional (AM) but can't for the life of me figure out the rules of the leagues or multiple leagues my teams seems to be entered into you.
I don't wish to cause you uneccessary hassle but i've scoured wiki and the internet looking some help to no avail. So i figured some of the people here would be able to explain things.
thanks,
Ben.

Do what I did in Brazil, just keep playing matches, somebody always told me where to be next until eventually the dole queue beckoned.

Iirc my knowledge is limited to something called the Pernambuco State Cup, (or something like that anyway).
It's a Cup that starts as a Cup before going to a League stage, before reverting back to a Cup again, before a 2nd League stage is started, and then it reverts back again to a Cup format before......... can't remember now. I think it was a sort of round robin finale, (which makes it a 3rd league stage), but it was so long ago that I might be wrong.
Needless to say I was excellent at winning the first 2 league stages and then losing later on to someone that had finished lower than me at some point in the dim and distant past.
Hope this clarifies things somewhat .

You play in two major league competitions instead of one like in most countries.
The first competition each year is a state league against your local rivals. But these all vary in their formats between states. Good luck figuring them out!
Then there is the Brazilian Cup running alongside that which not all teams are eligible to enter.
Then starting in May/June or so is the normal league season which has 3 divisions, and each of the 3 have a different format. Division 3 has group stages, then knockout, then a group stage!!

There are two halves to the season.
The first half is a state championship. Each state appears to have its own championship format.
The second half of the season is the national league. In the ND3, you play a group stage, then (IIRC) a knockout stage to see who is going to be promoted.

Statechamps, not important. Warning: win them and you enter the Brazilian Cup. So, don't win them if you hate cup. Downside, only 1st place gets you prizemoney
Third Division:
128 teams, 16 groups of 8 teams, play eachother twice, top 2 go into second round, bottom 2 go down.
Second round: , 32 teams, KO round, winners into third round.
Third round, 16 teams, KO round, winners into Final Stage.
Final Stage: 8 teams, league, play eachother twice, top 4 go into Second Division.
Second Division:
20 Teams, play eachother twice, top 4 go up, bottom 4 go down
First Division:
20 Teams, bottom 4 go down, some teams go into Copa Libertadores and Recopa Sud America

Thanks for all your help. I understand it now, very strange system.
I won the intial cup competition pretty easy, shame it doesn't get me promoted just into a cup where i will inevitably lose against vastly superior opposition.

Is managing in Brazil hard Kriss? Because I was thinking of doing a save in South America as I have not managed there before, and I was inspired by your South American Disaster thread which personally I thought was very good |

They're all hard when I do them happy
Seriously touring SA is great, you can progress from a dusty pitch in the jungle to a dusty pitch in a city in no time.
Bonus is that scouts can normally scout the whole continent, to counter that there's a 4 foreigners only rule most places.
I'm doing Asia now but don't rule out giving SA another bash as I had one more country to go.
