Default You're going to Scarborough fair, now pack your bags!

Reckoning Frank must have clocked my IP address. Evil so-and-so chose to send me to Scarborough

2006-2007: Scarborough, Conference North
Ok, so I walked into my first day on the job, with the press tipping us for relegation. Starting on -10 points, I'm not surprised.

Season gets off to a poor start, and we don't overturn the 10 point deficit until mid October. Things don't get any better and we're sitting bottom of ECN at Christmas, and with a meagre 6 points. Worse still, we were beaten 6-1 by our U18 squad.

A new chairman arrives in January, and clears the club debts. February calls, and with a tactical change we record our first win since November. In March, we finally make it off the bottom of ECN, to the giddy heights of 2nd bottom. There's a brave fight against relegation, but Scarborough just don't make it. Bye bye ECN, hello obscurity...

Finished: 21st, 35pts (Relegated)
FA Cup: 2nd Rnd Qual, lost 3-1 Vs Heybridge.
FA Trophy: 1st Rnd, lost 1-0 Vs Kettering.
Players In:7 Players Out:6

Other News
FA Cup Winners: Man United
League Cup Winners: Chelski
Premiership Winners: Arsenal
Champions League: Sporting CP
EURO Cup: Inter Milan

So my brief tenure with the Seadogs ends, I resign and call the job centre. They find something for me in Iceland...

2007 - 2008: Reynir Sandgeroi, Icelandic First Division
The fans welcome me into town with some herrings and a spa. The Reynir board expect me to fight against relegation, but the press see us as definite candidates.

Unfortunately, I've joined at the end of a mediocre Lower League Cup campaign, so I arrange a couple of friendly games to try and boost morale. I make no changes to staff of squad, except to loan a midfielder and striker from Premier teams. The season proceeds well, and I realise that short season means the 11 men on the field must bring in the results. We enjoy a good Icelandinc Cup run, and mixed performances in the league. My goal is achieved, and we finish above the drop zone. The board offers me a new 2 year contract, and I accept.

Finished: 9th, 26pts
Lower League Cup: Finished 6th in Group A.
Icelandic Cup: Qtr Final, lost 4-1 Vs Valur (Valur won the Cup).

Other News
English Premiership winners: Chelski
FA Cup Winners: Sunderland
League Cup Winners: Chelski
Champions League: Sporting CP (retained)
EURO Cup: Valencia
Euro 2008: Won by Holland. 5-3 penalty win Vs. Spain. England went out in group stage.

2008 - 2009: Reynir Sandgeroi, Icelandic First Division.
This is the season of nightmares.

2 players in, 1 out, and 3 brought in on loan. The season appears to get off on the right foot with a good run in the Lower League Cup, but a defeat in our final group match means we miss out on the semi finals. The league begins, and by August the crisis is only too apparent. 20 games in, no wins, and only 3 points. There's a turn around in fortunes in August, but nothing can save Reynir from relegation.

July 6th 2008 is a day I'll remember for years to come. I received a surprise phone call from the English FA. Will I become the new England manager? Try and stop me! Now the FA expect me to get England to World Cup 2010...

The Icelandic season ends, and I resign from Reynir, and sell the house (what's left of it after the Reynir fans set it alight).

So I'm Lower League clubless at the moment. Applied for at least 12 jobs, all unsuccessful. Not even the lowest of the low in Sweden will hire me...But still, I've got the England job!

Final Position: 12th, 13pts (P22,W3,D4,L15)
Lower League Cup: 2nd in Group D.
Icelandic Cup: 1st Rnd, lost 1-0 Vs Fjolnir

England Games:
England 4 - 1 Slovakia (WCQ Grp 1)
England 2 - 2 Moldova (WCQ Grp 1)
England 5 - 0 Azerbaijan (WCQ Grp 1)
England 2 - 2 Switzerland (Friendly)

So, no domestic job, and 2008 draws to a close...Happy New Year! *pops champagne cork at a mansion in LA, hosted by a footballer and a ropey ex-pop star.*

LLM is about realism as well as managing in the lower leagues, you have to ask yourself the question is the offer of the England job realistic?

Aside from that KUTGGettingEveryoneRelegated

The FA had whittled down the job candidates to me, and a monkey in London Zoo.

Premiership players on loan in Iceland and English management after three seasons in the game?

My mistake I think I've wondered into the wrong forums.

psychonaut, you're totally missing the point of LLM.

That point is "realism"...as realistic as the game allows.

How realistic is it for Premiership players to accept a loan spell in Iceland?

How realistic is it for England to hire a manager who has managed only at Scarborough and in Iceland?

Honest answers to those two will go some way to showing what the discrepancy between your game and LLM is.
