Stay away from the game for a while and see of you get the spirit back after a while.

Look on the bright side.

In addition to having lost the passion to play the game, you could also be a <team beaten 5-2 in the 2nd leg playoff> fan too.

Now doesn't that just cheer you up.

A couple of days/weeks off FM completely often rekindles my desire to go for a long FM career, as you will see something happen in "real-life" (whatever this may be) and think "Hey I bet I could do that", or "do better than that". Unlike the Jewish foreskin your passion FM never truely goes.

Play the FIFA Manager demo, then you soon realise that FM is head and shoulders above anything else and you'll get back playing it.

I did that with Billericay 06, when the Championship attendances were getting on my wick.

I was going to start a new thread there entitled "Lost heart" but then i seen yours wiseguy, and seeing how it is pretty much the same thing, do you mind if i hijack yours to tell my story of woe?
I hope not as i'm at the end of my tether already...

I started LLM recently, (I used to play the game back to front, you know; starting with LFC or Barca) and i was pretty excited by the initial challenge it presented.

I'm (was) with Histon in the English conference south at the minute where i got off to a relatively good, and somewhat surprising start and though i was winning a few games and flirting with the top quarter of the table, there were a lot of irritations that continued to take the glow off my game.

These were always to do with the actual match engine, for example:

CARDS. From the kick-off my players seemed to be marked men by the ref; foul once and they were carded and yet, the very player they fouled would continually foul my players and after about 10 fouls the ref would only, and what seemed like reluctantly "Give them a talking to"

INJURIES. As soon as i make my 3rd and final substitution the opposition players seem obliged to, almost immediately, injure one of my remaining players on the pitch. (Usually the one key to my game plan)

GOALS. Every one of the computers goals they scored against me seem so "Football-esque" and Organic; flowing moves from defence to attack that finished with a perfectly placed shot into the corner, Free kicks that flew in, corners that were met by the attacker perfectly and thumped into the net whereas any of the very few goals my team scored were scrappy, ugly, lucky goals that just about crossed the line. The computer even seems to patronize me by slamming the ball against the bar/post on purpose to show that it could score if it wanted to.

CREDIT. This one really p***es me off - EVERY single match that i lose, my opponents were "sensational" and "fully deserved the win" (According to the commentary) but when i win a match we were "Lucky" and my opponents have "Every right to feel aggrieved" (Again according to the commentary) All this even when our two sides are fairly evenly matched, when i'm at home or even when we're favorites...

TEAM EFFORT. The last few matches i played, i knew from the kick-off that we were not going to win judging by my players effort. They just didn't even try to be honest, they were kicking the ball TO the opponent, needlessly running it out for throw-ins and corners when the better (and easier) option was on. They didn't even TRY to shoot, or pass or tackle (properly) or defend, or run or anything. It all just seemed so bloody contrived that it was at best unrealistic, and at worst, well i dunno what you would call it... Pathetic?

I was careful with my team-talks, wasn't too harsh.

I'm playing ver 7.0.2 so i'm up to date and what-have-you.

It's got to the point where the game isn't even enjoyable to play at the minute and thats not a good thing. I've completely lost faith, why try when the players won't try? I decided to take action; each time i lost and the players never tried i fined each and every one of them a weeks wages - if they're not going to try then they're not getting bloody payed. Simple.

Anyway the board were annoyed at me because i was "Damaging team morale" due to my constant fining of the players. I carried on with my idea. They duly sacked me.

I'm considering giving up LLM as like i said i've completely lost heart.

Sorry for hijacking your thread.

Surely this is the brilliance of LLM though! Start at the bottom, do crap, get sacked, join another crap club, do crap, finish bottom, get sacked... and so on. I have read a couple of update threads this weekend that have been sack-fests (the Relegation Tour for one) and they are just as, if not more interesting to read as the success stories!

Your rant is out of place in here star man.

LLM is about LLM, win lose or draw, soldier on.

It's not sado masochism, it's realism, if you can't hack it then you're quite right, LLM is not for you.

I'm talking about when the game rather inexplicably goes against you. For no reason. Unfairly and unrealisticly. It was not a rant Kriss, merely a tale which suited the title of the thread. I can hack it, but i'm sure everyone loses heart once in a while...

Which is where the LLaMa picks up his cv, applies for a new job, and sets out to <STRIKE>get sacked</STRIKE> succeed at a new club.

A P45 has one big benefit. It kills aquaplaning more effectively than Domestos.
