Also the FOW works on the basis that a manager would in real life know some players and the level to which the FOW is set reflects what SI feel this would be.

YEADING 2012-13 League Two
I hate my Chairman..... I think you can guess what’s coming here! The impressive season for my 19yr old Czech Striker had drawn interest from a number of mid/lower table Premiership clubs. I was determined to resist all offers as I intended on building the team around this extremely promising youngster. Alas it was not to be…… after rejecting a several teams the greedy Chairman could not say no to 975k offered by Portsmouth. The upside to my grief was I then had over 700k to play with in the transfer market. Try as I might to blow the whole lot I struggled to find anyone that wanted to join the ‘up and coming’ Yeading FC and only managed to spend a total of 200k of the budget. Those that wanted to join rarely compared to the striker I had just lost, nevertheless 7 new players were signed, including two veterans that played at Premiership level several years ago and one young English attacker with possibly the same promise as the Czech (did I mention I missed him loads?!).
The season started very well despite the team struggling to score and we found ourselves quite firmly in the playoff places and pushing for automatic promotion by Christmas. Clearly all of Yeading’s luck in the cups had been used up following the magical draw against Chelsea two years ago…… a swift exit from all competitions for a second year running left only the league to concentrate on. The January transfer window saw the acquisition of an experienced RB offered by a recently relegated Birmingham team looking to lower the wage bill. The second half of the season continued to show promise and we gate-crashed the top 3 with 3 games left to play, and stayed there until the end of the season, well……if you don’t count the injury time goal on the last day that meant Accrington leap-frogging us! The heartbreaking denial of automatic promotion left the players visibly drained as we quietly slipped out of the Playoff Semi-Final 1-0 to Wycombe. I’m absolutely gutted…..literally minutes away from League One.
On the bright side, Yeading have progressed incredibly so far and I feel like I have a really good team here so the summer’s job will be to keep of all the current players. I’m in for one hell of a fight to hold on to my new English attacker that performed superbly in the second half of the season, scoring 11 in 16 starts including a hattrick which prompted quotes of praise to the media from the Liverpool manager. Tottenham, Blackburn and Sevilla are also interested so I fully expect my money grabbing Chairman to have cashed in on him by the start of the new season…… Bastard!

It's simple.

Change chairman or change clubs.

YEADING 2013-14 League Two
A fairly uneventful summer, with the biggest transfer success being hanging on to my extremely promising starlet despite much interest from the top clubs. 10 ageing players released and a few quality signings (CB, DM, MR and ST) strengthened the squad considerably. Still having all of last seasons top players had me feeling good about the season to come, and with good reason. The first half of the season and we were decimating all in our path. My young English attacker was on fire, scoring 14 in 15 games, but also continued to draw the interest of the big clubs. As with recent seasons, Yeading were woeful in all cup competitions, only marginally improving on the previous year (I’m beginning to understand the term ‘Cups suck ass’ ). Come January, we were sitting pretty, 4 points clear with a game in hand when my greedy Chairman struck again , accepting an offer of 775k for my striker. The immediate loss resulted in a dip of form and the danger of losing top spot, saved by the replacement pacey striker for 200k from Bolton. The replacement had a superb end to the season scoring 10 in 16 games, mainly consisting of grinding out Chelsea like 1-0 wins to secure the League Two title with 3 games to go. Hurrah…… Promotion to League One!! Other good notes: The board have started expansion of the stadium by 1400 seats and upgrading of training facilities.
