Then don't play LLM, don't post here, it's that simple.

Rules and Guidelines won't change because you bleat and don't like it, they've been formulated over about 10 years.

FM is your game, play it as you will.

But post in here and there's certain Rules to be adhered to and Guidelines to help you along.

It's not considered cheating and it's not banned, btw...it's just not done by LLaMas. I'd read the Featured Topics closer if I were you

Ben Greenbank's office, the manager of a LLM club.

Greenbank: Scout, go and watch Player With Certain Name please.
Scout: Have you heard good things about him gaffer?
Greenbank: No, he's soon to be released by his Premiership club, he's never played beyond their stiffs and I like his name.
Scout: Oookkkaaayyyy... you're the boss.

Moments later, in the corridor.

Tea Lady (she's always there): Hey Scout, how's things?
Scout: I'm fine Tea Lady. Yourself?
Tea Lady: I'm good thanks. How's Greenbank?
Scout: Not good. I think he's off his medication, either that or he's an idiot. He's asked me to scout somebody just because he likes his name.

Later, when Scout should be at Premiership stiffs stiff match against other Premiership stiffs.

Scout (to himself): Mmmm, I see an advert in the improved 07 Job Centre for a couple of other LLM clubs. I think I'll apply to get away from my idiot of a boss...

Fade to black as Scout starts writing an application letter.

All characters used in the previous short scene are fictional. Any resemblence to real life persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental. Especially managers of lower league football clubs called Ben Greenbank.

A scout is doing exactly what you described. He scouts matches in real life for players he does not already know, that is what a scout does. If already knew them then scouting would be pointless.

You telling me in real life that lower league teams dont keep an eye on the reserve teams of bigger clubs?

There is an endless supply of players that have come into the lower leagues from big teams. They have to have ended up their somehow? Through random scouting of big teams.

They don't randomly scout teams that are miles away. You'll find that lower league clubs tend to scout large teams that are within a reasonable distance to them.

If it were random, you'd get teams like Lewes scouting teams like Newcastle United reserves. Know of any Newcastle reserves who would commute to the south coast for a part time football career?

You have a point but LLM isn't just England and being that i never manage in England but usually smaller European countries.

It's besides the point anyway because if a scout pulled out a player from Newcastle would you not sign him because it is unrealistic in your view? I doubt it.

Ben, you're missing the point, which is that your approach is not LLM.

The jaffa will tell you, that if you have to wonder if something is properly LLM then it almost certainly isn't.

I'm fully aware it's not in the LLM ethic, i dont flawlessly stick to the ethic.

I don't use find or player search but i dont see the problem in looking through the squads of teams. Attribute masking in on so it covers up players you wouldnt realistically know and if a player looks decent i have scout of him.

My thinking is that a manager in real life is not a complete idiot, he will have a knowledge of a vast number of players within his region and he players whos attributes aren't masked refelct this.

I would never scout use tips, other peoples traning or other peoples tactics or sign players whom i coulnt scout because of restrictions but i personally dont see a problem with how i play, or how it is unrealistic.

Not that me typing this is worthwhile as i'm not going to change anything and i don't expect to. I just don't understand how you see how i play as unrealistic.

That's a player search itself. The only thing you're not doing is using the player search function.

How is a manager going to know about a top clubs reserve side? Two ways... through a member of staff scouting a match, or by watching one himself. You're not going to know Spotty Kid from Inbred Town is a decent player or not if he's not played for the seniors, unless you've actually come across him.

Alternatively, by your theory, FOW should be tightened up to show no stats until you have come across somebody in your game by someone at your club seeing them play, be it a player, scout, coach or yourself.

Anyone could go on the internet and find out the players that play for Man U reserves it isn't some kind of big secret. It's reasonable assume that if they got signed by Man Utd then they have at least some qualities but aren't good enough for Man Utd themselves, so i don't see why it is unreasonable to check out a few players.

i dont know how good the players are because i havent scouted them. When i scout them i find out but scouts have to use some level of assumption when scouting anyway. They dont know if anyone good is kicking about the junior leagues in Brazil but it is a hell of a lot more likely than finding them in the juniors of Sudan. So where do they scout? Brazil. It's called taking a calculated guess, i don't see why it makes a game unrealistic to use your brain to guess that maybe Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal may have singed some decent players even as low as the reserves.
