Great first season in conference! Too bad about those last ten games, but still, I myself never managed to stay up after my first promotion to the conference.

YEADING 2010-11 Conference National
With the impressive first season behind us and a secure financial situation the board took the decision to take Yeading professional. It sounded great but left a lot of work for Mr Manager…… the slight increase in wage budget was nowhere near sufficient to cover the numerous new full-time contracts that were signed. The usual turnover of several unwanted players leaving and a few free signings in took place, with me reluctant to blow my first ever transfer budget, a whopping 20k! The season started off well and Yeading made 5th spot their own for a large part of the season. Two excellent cup runs help to rake the cash in and I won the ultimate prize of an FA Cup 3rd round tie at Stamford Bridge! (aka The Holy Grail). Despite an honest 4-0 beating to Chelsea, I came out singing to the tune of 800k in gate receipts, double the total for the whole of previous season! And my luck didn’t stop there…… thanks to 17 goals from a newly revived striker as well as 12 goals from my young attacking midfielder pushed Yeading up into 3rd in the league and a shot at the playoffs. After breezing past Rochdale in a 3-0 pasting, only Rushden stood in my way to the football league. The game got off to a flyer with the scoreline 1-1 after 15 minutes but the remaining tense 75 failed to produce a goal. Extra time witnessed a goal line scramble and my veteran left back (and fans player of the season) stabbed the ball beyond the keeper to end it 2-1 and sending Yeading hurtling towards the dizzy heights of League Two! Come on you Dings!!
*Tip for other LLM’s: When in playoffs (especially finals) please remove all beverages from immediate area to avoid the risk of drowning your keyboard!!*

YEADING 2011-12 League Two
After allowing my keyboard to dry out I was able to continue on my quest into the Yeading history books. Following the massive influx of money from last seasons Chelsea fixture the board rewarded me handsomely with a staggering transfer budget of 210k. With such a large wad burning a hole in my pocket I set the scouts loose. That summer Yeading greeted no less than 22 new players (mainly on frees) featuring 5 youngsters freshly released from Premiership clubs and an entire new midfield. Biggest signing, splashing 170k, went to an extremely promising 19yr old Czech Striker from Norwich City. With a completely revamped team we were ready to take on the big boys!
My Assistant Manager of 2 years moved on to pastures new (Swansea), surprisingly I didn’t go out and get yet another coach but promoted an existing one! What followed was a pretty solid but unexciting season, almost constantly hovering between 10th and 18th in the table and no repeat of last seasons cup heroics. Several of the summer signings were beginning to show signs of development, not least the Czech record signing who notched up 16 in 23 games despite a 2 month injury. The centre-back partnership was also coming along nicely and a potentially morale damaging right winger had settled down and was grafting for the team. Comedy highlight of the season: a 3-0 beating of Mansfield Town without registering a single shot on target! (3 superbly taken own goals on their part) Overall, another very good debut season in a higher league and the summer should consist of building on the potential of the current squad.

You've managed to outlast the real life Yeading too - they're merging with Hayes.
