I've seen all the stuff about scouting for LLM, my question is this:-

If I was to choose, for example, a Conference South team to manage, I know that it'd be deemed realistic to be scouting in other UK countries and Ireland. Would France be seen as reasonable as well?

Just so I know whether I'd be playing fair if I decided to scout for players in France.

Your board will tell you where they deem to be reasonable to scout. Probably UK only until you get out of the Conference. I'm in the Championship at the moment, and the board will still only fund scouting in UK/Ireland.

Since the release of FM2007 the SWYCT guideline has effectively become redundant. The board now tell you where you can scout, take that as your guide

Are you playing FM05? Your previous thread is about 05.

Imo, in Fm it's not ok to scout in France, maybe when you reach L2 or L1.

If in FM05 L1 I'd say. Real world experience with Swindon Town (gob*****) scouting France last year in L1 but not as far as I'm aware this year in L2.

But reality is board now limit scouting as said before.

I would say if you're boss of Dover, you could arrange your scout to do a cross channel swim to benefit the club in two ways.

1. Act as a fund raiser to help the club out a la David Walliams raising money for Comic Relief.
2. He can scout for players when he reaches Calais. They have a lower league team too, though I'll be buggered if I can remember what league they are in now.

Come to think of it, Dover have dropped down a bit themselves and may not even be able to be promoted to Conference South in the game now.

Yep, I am playing FM05, although I'm debating whether or not I should go and get FM07 or not when I get paid?

Does anybody think it's worth it, or should I stick with 05?

In my opinion, FM2007 is awesome and way better than 05. It finally has again what made 01/02 so special. I'd say, it's worth it for sure.
