Spanish 2nd Division B1 Season 2015/16 F.C. Pena Sport

Pena Sport offer me the job for the next season, they have just been promoted back into the leagues and are part time. 680k to spend on players, wahey I think. But no bugger wants to come as we are part time, and even free transfer players aren’t interested. I manage to bring in 1 new striker before the window closes, everyone else tells me where to go. So we start season with a squad of 19, including 5 strikers Sad. Our squad is rubbish as well, and I expect us to struggle badly and go down. We do, and we really struggle to make any chances for our strikers, scoring hardly any goals. Game 17 is our 1st and last win of season and we fail to score in 21 of the 32 matches im in charge for. We loose the last 11 games in a row to be relegated so I get sacked after 32 games.

After this I go on holiday, thinking that I will probably not get any offers until the start of next season. I get offered the Real Ovideo job, but I don’t get brought back from the holiday to accept/decline it, cyber-me automatically takes it, and I end up at the 3rd placed team in Spanish B2, just in time for the promotional playoffs. We beat Figures 2-0 on aggregate in the semi’s and then beat Sevilla Reserves 5-0 on aggregate in the Finals, so I somehow end up winning promotion to the Spanish 2nd League.

Not massively happy with cyber-me for taking the job but will see how next season goes. To give an idea of the difference in class between teams in the same league, Pena Sport spent 4k a week on wages, with an allowed budget of 9k, while Ovideo spent 130k, with a 296k budget. Pena 1k on players, Ovideo 3.2 million.

Season 2016/17 Spanish LIGA BBVA Real Oviedo

Was very tempted to walk away in the summer, but no decent/stupid clubs came up from non-league in Spain/Italy, so I decide to stick with Oviedo even though id rather not. So I move from a tiny little club to the 78th biggest club in the world, 30,000 all-seater stadium, state of art training and youth facilities, and a youth academy. The chairman invests 17 million at start of season, and had invested 18 million the year before, and gives me 5 million to spend. LLM this isn’t.

2.7 million is spent in pre-season strengthening the squad, mostly squad/young players, but 650k goes on a good Columbian centreback, who gets injured in pre-season for 3 months, and 1 million Great British pounds goes on a Columbian AMR, ST, who also gets injured in preseason, for 4 months.

We start off the season brightly, winning our last 2 friendlies 7-0 each to get us in the mood for the season, and have 18 points after 7 games. For the rest of the season we stay in the top 3, and around Christmas, when all the signings are back from injury we start to have an exceptional run of form and pull away from the rest of the field.

My Brazilian ST scores 19 in 37(more than my total team goals in several seasons), and a young AM/FC I picked up from title rivals Celta for 100k as he was unsettled scores 13 in 17 starts, including 3 v Vigo. At the other end I have the best keeper in the league, and this combo helps us pull away near the end of the season. In the end we win title by 8 points, finishing on 92, the highest total ever.

As for next season, I really want to walk away but I’ve already lost 2 squad players on pre-contracts, and the prospect of a relegation struggle looks very likely, so this will probably tempt me to stay for 1 more season, before I go and find a more enjoyable challenge.
