2011/12 Spanish 2nd Division B1Mostoles

None of the teams promoted to the Serie C2’s need managers so I end up joining Mostoles 2 games into the Spanish season. Newly promoted into the league after being relegated out of it in 06/07(media prediction 20th of 20), they had signed 17 players on frees just before I joined. I then sign 12 more free players, only to find out I can’t register them till the Christmas window .

We suffer from injuries and the signings pre-me being ***** and loose lots of games. Annoyingly, lots involved going in front then loosing. To counter this I change to a more defensive tactic and end up loosing 6-0, 7-1, and 8-0! :pete: The new signings, when finally registered don’t really make a difference, and with 2 games left to go we are relegated, and I get fired immediately, and run for the 1st flight back to Italy, before the supporters kill me.

2012/13 Italian Serie C2/CRende

Eastleigh in Conference South approach me twice, offering me £80 a week to go there, but I turn them down. Rende approach me, they finished 7th last season and media predict 9th this season so hopefully we can challenge for a playoff place.

I bring in 9 players in preseason and we start off well, unbeaten in friendlies and 2 wins and 2 draws from 1st 4 league and cup games. Then things go ****. We don’t manage a win in our next 32 games and when we do win the 33rd game it’s the game just after we’ve been relegated.

Lots of 0-0’s and 0-1 losses, which are more irritating than getting gubbed 4-0 every week, as almost all the games we could have won/drawn but couldn’t quite score when we had the chances, our top scorer gets 8, our next highest 3. A very almost season, only 4 points from 2nd bottom and a playout place as well.

2013/14 German Regional Division NorthFC Carl Zeiss Jena

Ferentino get promoted back into the Italian leagues, but knock me back for the job. The next team to offer me a job is FC Jena of the German Regionals. They seem to have a fairly good squad, but lack depth, and the media prediction of 7th looks to be a bit of a challenge with only 16k to spend.

I bring in some frees and an ownage looking 17 year old GK for 4K ( my new highest transfer fee). We start ok, winning all our friendlies and taking 4 points from 1st 3 league games, then things go tits up. We fail to score for the next 9 games, causing my mouse to come near death. We play well in defence and midfield, but are completely useless when we got into the opponent’s box, the strikers are more likely to hit the ballboys than the nets.

We sit last at Christmas (did you see that coming?) with our top scorer having 2, but only being 4 points off safety. We sign 3 urgently needed strikers in the break and in the 1st game after the Chrimbo rest we destroy 2nd place Dusseldorf 4-2 and I start to think I’ve done something correct tactically for a change. We get pasted the next few matches as usual though. Despite 1 of our new strikers scoring 8 in 13 games we drop too many points and failing to beat Kiel despite having 14 shots in the 2nd last game of the season sends us down. Again.
