Would like to speculate on the possible addition of England C team being added. Possibly as a novelty. realise its not serving any function as such, but many lower league managers and players in non-league (BSP downwards) consider participation in this set up as a highlight in thier career. Maybe even a wee feature at the end of the season to say your players or yourself as manager has been selected to manage in an annual one off England C fixture.
realise its not the most pertinant of ideas on the forum but its just a thought. anyone else see the novelty value in it?
i'll leave it up for discussion..... every forum needs its Cicero and think even pointless ideas have merit, even if just to be dismissed
It would make the game a bit more realistic, however this would add more games into an already congested season at this level. My players are part time, they are strugling to cope with the existing fixtures let alone a few games away on international duty and traveling.
It's the same team as it has always been, it's just been renamed.
It's been managed by the Barnet manager for a few years now.
I would quite like it to be included in future FM games, but it will only really work if you have multiple nations loaded in full detail so that the players generated stay at a stable level.
Any sort of International management was a complete waste of time in previous issues, and to be honest, I can't get to grips with managing a club in FM08 so I doubt very much I will ever get the opportunity to experiment with managing a National side .
I don’t think it’s necessary but could possibly add another dimension to the game. It would give something for your players to aspire to, like with full internationals, as well as provide other ways for the moral to be affected.
But what would be the point unless they brought in other countries non-league international teams; you couldn't just have the England C. I know they annually hold a Home Nations Tournament, i think there may even be (or Talk of) a European Championship (any else know if that’s true, i vaguely remember the Non-League Paper mentioning this). I also know Italy have a Seria C National team but apart from that I don't know if there is enough teams to warrent its inclusion.
oh agree it possibly doesnt have merit in terms of game inclusion, but its nice to canvas opinion on the matter. maybe a non interactive england C or home nations tournament if practical as you suggested blinky. just know from speaking to non league followers and from scottish junior players that these things are taken seriously by thoses involved in the game at that level.
Ireland have recently set up an U23 team consisting entirely of League of Ireland players. They are going to be playing the Serie C team ...and I think the English one
