Clubs will go bankrupt in the game (although its fairly rare as irl) - however they don't actually cease existance at this point and will bumble along until either they fall into a non-league situation or salvage themselves financially (whether with help from a new chairman or under their own steam).
If you manage to bankrupt your club then you'll know about it - you'll find you have next to no wages available and no transfer kitty ...
