i have a player who is on first team status and £60k and in a new contract he is requesting £45k, rotation and a bigger appearance fee.

fine, that seems fair enough as hes no a first teamer anymore, but when i offer the exact contract, he throws is back in my face saying he doesnt want to take a paycut.. whats that about!?

Check he is actually asking for £45k at the top of the screen and its not just your wage structure restricting rotation players to £45k.

If he is actually asking for a wage cut but cant accept it when you offer then then I guess some medication may be needed

just checked again and nope, hes definately on £65k (+£7.5k appearance) and now he is requesting less wages with a higher appearance fee, which i am happy to do.

Try withdrawing the offer alltogether (thus ending that "contract session" so to speak), click continue and offer a new contract again. he may have changed his requests. If he hasn't, then offer it to him again and see what he says.

tried that, same request. i wouldnt mind, but hes got a year left and hes mocking me!

he did, i tried bumping up the squad status from rotation to first team with the same £45k hes requesting and now hes taken a pay cut, woohoo!

This has happened for the last 3 versions and I hoped it would be fixed by now. Players/staff rejecting contracts that THEY request. It is very annoying.

i think the current state that they reject contracts they request might have been a "fix" for the old offer them a lower wage constantly bug that was in an earlier game.

If my boss offers me a less payed contract I will politely decline XDDD Nobody wants to earn less money :/
