I'm having second beta patch.

I'm playing normal mentality and my wingers tend to move in and position themselves in a good place for a pass. DMs' passing is between 12 and 15, can't expect much more in league 1. They don't have any preferred moves. They (only playing one at the time thoug)are set to play defensive, creative freedom a couple of ticks left, passing direct halfway to the right, closing down all over the pitch, all the rest in the middle except cross ball wich is set rarely.

Ok, that all sounds ok. How defensive is your defensive midfielder set to? One thing might be that he's set a little too defensive and is therefore reluctant to make direct forward passes.

I'd suggest tinkering with his passing. Try setting just his passing to a short for a game and see if he makes more passes rather than holding onto the ball. Just for reference these are the settings I use for my defensive midfielder and he plays very well:

DMC

However I play a strange 4-1-2-2-1 formation so there's always someone nearby for him to pass to and I'm Man Utd at the moment so it's probably easier to get it to work. This tactic has been tried by other people though using smaller teams (I put it up for download in the tactics forum) and their defensive midfielders seemed to play fine.

It might depend quite a lot on your formation and team instructions but try adjusting his passing for a game and see if that makes a difference.
