I found this lad when I was managing Northwich and did the same thing then.

This is my current game as manager of Macc.

So far I've got four seasons out of this player and not paid him one single penny because I always offer Man City 0% of his wages.

I agree this is slightly unrealistic, although IRL i can think of one player who was on loan from Plymouth to Exeter for 2 seasons and was almost extended to 3.

So although it is not likely to happen it is plausable especially between clubs of close proximity ie Exeter and Plymouth or Man City and Macclesfield.

Half of my team is currently players on loan from Man City or those I've picked up from their youth team.

I also had tramnere as a parent club whosent me two great youngesters who I have since signed.
