As a league 2 side I offered a young player who was released by Villa a 3 year contract, told him he was a key player, slightly more wages than he asked for and met all his other requests. Several other league sides made him offers, including a championship side. He eventually decides to reject all these offers and sign on a part time contract (as opposed to the full time I offered) with a lower league Scottish team on £300 p/w which is less than half of what I offered him, presumably just because they have a 'national' reputation. It's probably my fault for stalling on signing him in the first place, but it's still bloody annoying. Anyone else found any transfers like this?
