What you've described isn't unplayability, it's simply that you dont enjoy what you're being asked to do.

I've found plenty of problems with instructions, teamtalks and training, but it doesn't mean it doesn't work or it's unplayable. For a start, players dont always do what their manager tells them! Joe Cole used to drive Mourinho mad because he pratted around with the ball too much but he never got him to stop fully. Teamtalks do have an effect, I'm sure everyone has had the media item about your teamtalk being spot on, or rubbish as the case may be. The commentary even gives you clues as to who has been fired up so you know how they react:

"X looks really up for this game today."

I've won the Premiership with Man Utd in one game, I've been absolutely awful and sacked in others. I agree that on occassion the match engine goes a bit crazy when your tactics work, but to say that it's unplayable is simply not true. It lets you do everything it advertises on the box, to varying degrees of success.

If your problem is you dont like how the game works then you should look for something you do enjoy, but the vast number of people that are making a success of the game shows that it is playable.

I don't think you're looking at it from where I'm coming from.

If I can't give players proper instructions, or the tactic changes after I have tweaked it, then I have no idea whether players are even trying to follow 'my' instructions at all...and that goes counter to the whole idea of this game.

I do enjoy the game...I also want to enjoy it as it was advertised and the way I've grown to like this series...NOT to be reduced to a fairly helpless person on pitch side

Let's use the oft used car analogy here...

FM is a shining new car, lovely to look at and the engine works great. Yes, some people are complaining about scatches here and there and maybe an occasional flat tire...but overall, the car's workable...and in your undertanding, playable...

But to me, the most important part of the car is not just how it looks or how it feels when I sit inside...it's in the driving...

Now, if I push the steering wheel down, the car veers left and when I pull the steering wheel up, the car veers right...at least I can learn to drive it...I may still crash a few times but it's all in degrees and soon I'll get the hang of it...

The problem I have now is liken to pushing and pulling the steering doesn't give me the same expected responses...what's worse, is that when I pull the steering, some times the steering goes down instead of up...I can push the steering thinking I'm turning left but finds if I look at the tires, they are turning right as I have put in place earlier and it's not registering my new input...

That makes the car, as far as I'm concern, not drivable...and in my terms, unplayable...

Sure, some people may be happy to sit in a new car, feel the new seats, smell the new car scent and be happy...some may start it up and as they hear the engine purr, they are happy...some may even try to move it forward a few inches and back a few inches and are happy that they can do that...

Me? I want to drive it down the highway and until the developer fix the steering problem...and it's only a problem because I have no idea what my inputs mean to the car, and not that they have to make it the same as every other car..and I therefore cannot 'grow' as a driver which makes this car unsatisfactory to me...

I am not whining for the sake of whining...I want the developer to fix this otherwise rather brilliant car...there are minor scratches and I don't care about that so much...I know how to fix a flat tire...but please...give me an understanding of how to steer the damned thing...or at least create a logic where I can learn to drive...and then make it fairly consistent (none of that 'change without prior notice' crap...) and I should be able to cruise down the highway after a few bumps and minor crashes...

That is all I'm trying to do...and until I can steer tha car, it is unplayable to my standard.

Of course, there will always be one (as predicted in my first post) who will tell me it's my tactics...all I have to say to those is that, yes, son, play it to your low standard...it's like a F1 driver saying it's tough to work the course and here comes a new learner driver proclaiming: 'just steer the car...how hard is that?'...thanks son...you obviously don't tweak your tactics often...probably downloaded it from some forum and use it for as long as you play the game...I tweak my tactics every match to suit my opponent...and I want to be able to do that because this game is mostly about footy tactics and outfoxing our opponents...

Accepting anything less would basically kill the series...(or make the in-depth development of the match engine redundant...)
