I'm not sure what this has to do with my post. Everybody knows there is a problem with the number of chances created during games, and the number of 1-on-1's. This is a well known issue and SI have confirmed they are looking at it.

But even once this is sorted you'll still find a lot of people having the problem that they're not entirely sure why things are or are not working, and feel that they're just stumbling around until they manage to hit on a tactic that works.

A feedback or analysis system is long overdue imo.

Absolutely right mate...If I had more hair, I'd tear them all out.

because I like to make a balanced tactic and rarely change anything about that tactic, either before or during games (this may be partly due to the fact that I'm a little scared of any changes I do make causing a relatively solid tactic to fall apart). But if this is a fairly common issue then it's very serious.
That is exactly the problem mate...Should we be so scared of tweaking?? If we are, then it is a serious problem.

As the tactical side has become more difficult and more important, the feedback on what works and what doesn't has not improved to match this. People don't care about losing if they understand why. And in the same way, when winning, people want to be able to know what it was they did to bring about that victory. At the same time they don't want to be told how to win games, just WHY things are, or are not working.
Hear hear!!! (Been hear hearing since 2003... )

In real life managers are able to ask the opinion of their assistants if they want to, and are able to analyse previous games to see where they went wrong. Why can't we?
The answer, my dear Watson, is simple..the Ass man in game is crap!!!

I can never understand why SI do not introduce some pundits in the game, tearing apart our tactics (as compared to our opponent...) during post match analysis, criticising some players while praising others and let us defend our players or get in the act of slamming them too. Instead, all we get now is stating the bleeding obvious contest.

People have got to stop using the term 'unplayable' in context with FM. Take the OP as an example, he got half way through the season before discovering the game was unplayable, therefore he must have been playing it to get that far!

I know that some people have crash dump issues literall making the game unplayable, but for the rest of us it's just throwing up the occasional annoyance that we have to work through.

Things in this game have driven me mad, I've had no clue as to what was going wrong and yet I carried on going or gave up and started a new season. Either way I always went back and started playing again and it seems that's what a lot of other people are doing.

FM is not unplayable, it just has a few things that we'd all like to see improved. Enough people have won things on 08 on all patched versions or the boxed version to prove that it is playable even if it can be annoying!

I disagree mate...I said unplayable as it was intended...

The game play for FM2008 is for us to control a virtual team of footballers, no? Then to give them contracts and set them to train, yes? Then to set tactics for them so they can go out and play football as the manager (us) wishes them to play, yes??

If I cannot control them any more through tactics because 1) I have no idea what I am asking them to do...or 2) they do not do what I ask them to do anyway...or 3) The things I ask them to do is constantly changed by the game itself...

Then...

The game is no longer playable as it was intended!!!

Of course the game is playable...but it was not written so that human managers become spectators because they can either no longer give instructions to their players, or players are no longer receiving those instructions...

That was not how FM was/is advertised. They never told me that I should pay this amount, pop the CD into my computer and the game will take it away. I have no control, in fact I do not need control because whatever I did will have no effect on gameplay.

That my friend, makes it unplayable as it was intended. (let's not even talk about pretending to train players or to give them team talks...)

Unplayable? I have never played an FM game this much. Yes it has a couple small issues but overall the game is great and if you aren't happy perhaps you should stop being so picky and enjoy the game for a second. If you can't enjoy it then stop playing and go find another game.

Really are you ever going to be happy? Or do you just get enjoyment in coming here to bash to SI developers?

i found this to be the most unplayable version of fm ever theres just too many bugs.

I doubt that i will ever play on this version of fm again and i doubt that i will ever buy another fm as you get a game thats half made and have to wait for a patch.

There is no enjoyment with this game anymore.
