And people working in English football ( i dont know is it association or federation ) should have someone to meet other teams on the airport, the last game against Croatia there was nobody there. Here in Croatia it is common even for friendlys that people from our football ass. meet other teams on the airport just to resolve problems and make the other team feel like at home, it's just hospitality.

Is he actually appointed yet? We have seen twists at the last minute before!
I cant believe how quick the FA have been to get someone when we all know that a number of high profile managers will be out of jobs after the euros, which were not in.
In my opinion Capello is probably the best of a limited pool at the moment but cant even speak english?!?!!! So why not put someone temporary in charge, the most high profile out of job person would be shearer or maybe Pearcy for now and just hold out for someone more suitable.

If we are set to appoint Capello I can't understand why people are talking about getting Shearer or Pearce in the backroom staff. If you want to groom English managers, start them managing in the lower leagues, they'll have learnt enough about management styles in their playing careers anyway and so I dont see what else they will learn by working under another manager. Managing and coaching are completely different, just ask McClaren!
This is why I want Wilkins, Zola, Vialli or Platt involved, not because we're grooming them to replace Capello, but because they can work alongside him now, translate for him, and hopefully help out on the coaching side.

| What experience does managing Macclesfield give a manager that will be beneficial to managing England?
Managing a lower league club is about working to budgets and very restrictive monetary wise, an International manager wouldnt gain much from that when his job is about tactics and managing big names players.
In an ideal world it would be an English manager who had managed a premiership team with success, unfortunately we dont have any of them...

If you start them in the lower leagues they have a chance to build up a reputation, work their way up and if they prove they're good enough then they'll get a job at a top Premiership club.
Lower league management is not just about finances, that is essentially the chairman's job anyway. It's still about tactical knowledge and picking the right team.
Where else do you want a future England manager to start? It doesn't exactly seem to work out when they are thrown straight into Premiership management. They tend to get sacked quite quickly!

| How many more coaches can you think of with a more impressive CV than Capello? And how many would want the job?
Apart from maybe Lippi, Hiddink or Scolari, none of the other big names will be tempted (Wenger & SAF to name but two). Hiddink doesn't seem that interested at the moment, and Scolari has already been scared away by the rabid media. And the same arguments would apply to Lippi as to Capello.
Most of the other names being linked with the England job - both this time round and last time - are surely nothing more than a result of media speculation. Does anyone really think that Shearer et al would be qualified, given that he has next to no experience?

I highly doubt that Shearer would be appointed a role in the staff.
Being a good footballer doesn't always mean they will be a good coach or manager.
Capello will deliver, just give him time to settle in and hope the media stays out of it.

Capello will do the job, although he's not the type of beautiful football.
There aren't many choices now for England since they're short of experienced coaches. One of the reasons McClaren got into the job because he led Boro to UC final, but his inconsistency shown again with England.
The major problem of English players comes from club problem. Rivalry between clubs and ego which they cannot dissolve. My guess is Capello will blow their hair and fix that problem. He'll also jump up and down at the touchline unlike Ericson who sat on the stand which people don't like that.
Also, football language is global, no barrier for that.
