Rep Power: 0 | Advice please - can't find default database!?
I've spent hours updating the data editor and now when i try to start a new game I am told that the game can't find a default database and I should make sure that the game hasn't been corrupted. What do I need to do...don't want to reinstall as I've spent so long updating it...is there a way to save my updated data editor somewhere if I do have to reinstall the game. If I download the newest patch, will that solve my problem, but will it lose my updated db!?

In your editor, go to Edit -> Options
You'll see a path. In the "db" subfolder of that path should be a folder containing your saved database
Typically it is ....My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007
The default database on the other hand is stored in
C Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2007\data\db

Excuse my ignorance, but i'm a bit confused! If I go to Editor, Edit, Options, all I get is a small box with three loading options...how do I get my Editor to recognise a default database and load up properly so that I can choose my saved db? Thanks for your help.

Yes, you have the three options but you also have a "User Data Folder" option where you can specify a path. It clearly states
"This path should be the same as the User Data Folder in the game"
So, if you start FM and go to Preferences, you should see a User Data Folder option and a path (probably the "..My Documents.." one I gave you in my last post). Make sure that it's the same for the Editor.

Nope, just get three tick boxes on 'load all languages', 'load player histories' and 'load non playing histories'...

Well, I'm running with the latest patch, so maybe that was a change the came with it? I don't know.
Anyway, try to find your saved database. I assume you saved it with a different name? Find a folder with that name (probably in the "..My Documents.." location) and make a backup of it just to be on the safe side although it shouldn't matter.
Apply the patch and see if it helps.
