Is there a link between this two? If I play short pass, should I select narrow, wide, or just leave it to normal?

If you play a short passing game, and select a wide formation, you are creating a problem for your players. You tell them to play short passes, but the nearest players are probably quite a distance away. This then results in longer, direct passes. Especially if you see your defenders hoofing the ball upfield, you'll need to adapt the passing or width setting.

But I'm sure there's more on this in the FAQ or one of Rashidi's or Cleon's threads in this forum.
