I read a very interesting article on a belgian site of fm (...) about the making of a tactic. On past editions I used to take the easy way and search for a downloaded tactic that worked for me.
But by reading the article I wondered if I could make a tactic myself and understand more of the game.
I decided (like I always do when I buy the new version of manager) to start with my favourite team in my native country, Club Brugge.
1) Players
Strengths :
a good attacking left back – I will search for a right back like him
a creative genie (but slow and not good at off the ball)
the other MC’s have very good off the ball and hard workers, but not very strong technically
a striker with good finishing, anticipation, off the ball, agility and work rate
a striker with good finishing, heading, jumping, (agility), off the ball and anticipation
Weakness:
my DC’s are strong but slow and no good passing
the overall passing of my team isn’t superb
2) Formation
two options, I guess : 4-4-2 of 4-3-3 , I prefer to have the option between the two, perhaps according to the opposite team
I would like my backs to come forward, deliver crosses (because of the good anticipation of my strikers)
my MC’s have to come forward, unless it’s my creative player who could be a playmaker who tries through balls
In Belgium Club brugge is a top team, so I want to play dominant and if possible with a lot of possesion
Could anyone please help me with the team instructions…
-Mentality?
-Creative freedom?
-Passing?
-Width?
-Tempo?
-D-Line?
-Off side?
-Counter attack?
Should I give my strikers a lot of creative freedom (agility)?
How can I cover the weakness (= slowness?) of my DC’s?
If I play 4-3-3 should I then play down the flanks? Then my backs are very important because they are the only persons who can deliver crosses.
