After a season of much fannying about and tweakings of Tactics, i have found a tactic that is simply destroying my rival teams so far in the BSP

I got Stalybridge up to the BSP with a pretty defensive 442 in my first season. In my second season making my BSP debut i was getting beaten all the time and was leaking goals all over. I experimented with making various tactics after giving up any hope of a second successive. promotion.

So here it is, this has got to be the most amount of goals i have ever scored at the start of a season. I will admit i have a decent squad by BSP standards but i had the backbone of this squad the previous season so this tactic has made something click. Im curious to see if anyone else wants to test it to see if its a good tactic or not or whether its has worked for my team only.

Here is the start to my season.

Fantastic Start

Crucial stats here are

workrate and acceleration.

The Loan man upfront is the crucial pin here.

He holds up the ball and slides the ball through to charging wingers who cut in between the fullback and cb its almost impossible to defend against.

I play a slow tempo with with all players playing small passes. What you find is that the opposition are dragged all over the place and are opened up quite easily. The team are not to offensive/defensive and are set at normal. The two cbs manmark and are ultra defensive, they keep the back door shut. They sit fairly deep and dominate the high ball with good strength and jumping stats. Nothing gets behind them and with decent acceleration they can quickly cover small ground to tackle. My dmc/mc have good workrate but need cover on the subs bench. they press and harrass the opposition, and also make alot of small pass and moves, they have to either be very high on the stamina and workrate.

Two wingers are quick and can finish.
