I've been looking through these forums to see what players other people have found. After awhile I'm not sure if we're even playing the same game. The claimed valuations are wayyy lower than what they are in any normal scenario in the game (i.e. player doesn't get hurt, in decent form, etc). Some players that people report for a few 100k to a reasonable few million actually cost a lot more. Do you actually try to buy the player or are you just simply writing in his reported value? I've been playing on FM 08 for awhile and I've NEVER been able to buy a good player at his reported value (unless he got severely injured or something).

That being said is anyone else sick of the blatant way Premier League clubs seem to outrageously overbid for decent players and keep driving their prices up? I mean granted it should happen like it does in real life but it seems about 10x worse this year than last year.

Example: As PSG I put in a bid for Graziano Pelle at $7 million which AZ was about to accept. Then Wigan came in with a bid of $13 million. Wigan!? Are you kidding me? Pelle did well for me in FM07 but no way I'm paying that much for him.

I don't know anything about the EPL teams as I haven't had one bid on any players I have beeen interested in as for the sale values what versiona re you playing? after the final beta patch I noticed a significant increase in even the reported value let alone sale values of some players... fo instance alex from vasco da gama was listed for 60k eruos and I would buy him for 900k euros now he is listed as being around 2.2 million and can purchase him for 1.9 or lulinha from corinthians was valued at 350k or so woiuld buy him for 1.5 million now he is listed as 3 million or so and his sale value is 3 million as well... I think sale values can fluctuate from game to game depending on who is interested in the players, bumbers of clubs, etc.

I can never almost never buy a good player for his value and almost never sell a unwanted player for anywhere near his listed value?

What annoys me is when a club accepts say a bid from another club for say 9mill and you offer the same or even 30-40% more but they reject it and only want 2-3 times his listed price.

Inflated player values can benefit you also, I just sold Darren Fletcher for 40 million over 24 months to Pompey.
